As you may know the Heritage Trail Committee has been trying to get in touch with the very busy Baz Luhrmann for some time now. Today (Sunday 2nd) in the Telegraph on page 20 is an article about Baz and his roots in Herons Creek.

The article refers to a six-meter sign. Please do not be alarmed, this is in error, all our signs are to be six FEET by four feet.

The article also features a quote from our own Bill Boyd.

The Herons Creek social event for February is a river cruise this Tuesday (4th). Departing from Short St. Port Macquarie at 5.45 pm. The cost will be about $10 and BYO food is welcomed. Please ring Martin Parish if you are interested as space is limited.

It is with sadness we report the passing of Pearl Newell, formerly of Roseneath Rd Herons Creek, who passed away peacefully on Feb 25th. The funeral (thanksgiving service) celebrating her life will be held at the Herons Creek Chapel tomorrow (Mar 6) at 11am. We intend to post her story to this site soon.

Just a reminder for our readers, of the monthly service to be held at Herons Creek Chapel (Blackbutt Rd) this Sunday, at 9:37am. To be followed by a morning tea at 11am, all community members welcome (service attendence is not required to come share a cuppa at 11 and catch up).
